VOICE & CASTING DIRECTOR
Where performance meets precision.
I offer a complete casting service for the shows I voice direct. For me, voice directing is the perfect synthesis of writing, directing and acting. It brings together everything I love about storytelling.
Finding the right voice is key to the success of an animation. I search for actors with care, then work with them in the studio to find performances that feel natural, confident and true to the characters.
AT THE HEART OF IT

SELECTED PRODUCTIONS
A world of characters and performances.

The Adventures of Paddington
Nickelodeon/Heyday Films/Studio Canal/Blue-Zoo Animation Studio
Paddington is a world of warmth, wit and distinctive characters. Performances need to feel truthful and playful while preserving the gentle humour at the heart of the stories. Finding the right pace and personality for each character is especially important in animation, where a voice can convey so much with a small change of tone. The familiar world of Paddington is a reminder of how good storytelling depends on listening, timing and a real connection between character and audience. The emphasis is always on creating moments that feel natural, engaging and full of heart.

Paddington & The Queen
Heyday Films/Studio Canal/BBC Studios
A special short-form story needs every performance and moment of comic timing to count. Its appeal lies in balancing familiar characters, warmth and a light touch. In a shorter production, there is little room for unnecessary detail, so the tone of every exchange matters. Characters have to feel immediately recognisable while still allowing a story to surprise and delight. This is the kind of work where careful attention to rhythm, character and the space between lines makes a real difference to how an audience experiences a scene. The simplest moments are often the most memorable.

Zog
Magic Light Pictures
Adapted from a much-loved children’s story, Zog combines expressive characters, humour and a strong sense of adventure. Performance helps bring that illustrated world to life. The appeal of an animated story often lies in the contrast between bold, larger-than-life characters and the very human feelings underneath them. Every character needs a distinctive personality, but each voice also has to belong in the same imaginative world. A clear emotional journey, lively timing and an instinctive sense of fun help connect the action with its audience. It is storytelling that rewards both precision and playfulness.

Miffy
Mercis/Studio Canal/SuperProd/Sky
Miffy’s gentle world calls for simplicity, warmth and clarity. Small changes of tone and feeling can carry a surprising amount of character. When stories are aimed at younger audiences, a performance does not need to be loud or complicated to be engaging. The smallest shift in pace, expression or emphasis can create a sense of discovery. Characters should be easy to connect with, and the storytelling should leave room for young viewers to make discoveries of their own. That kind of restraint calls for care, patience and a strong understanding of what each moment needs.

I Am Your Mother
Aardman/Lucasfilm
This animated short puts family relationships and comic timing at the centre of its story. Distinct character voices help the humour and emotion sit side by side. Short-form animation is an opportunity to establish a whole world in just a few carefully chosen moments. It asks for clarity of character, a keen sense of rhythm and performances that can move easily between comedy and genuine feeling. The result depends on how the actors’ voices work together, not simply on the impact of any one line. The most effective performances help the audience recognise the people beneath the spectacle.

Benjamin Bat
Zeilt Production/Storytellers Films (NL)
A character-led animated story offers room for distinctive performances, warmth and a sense of adventure. The details of each voice help shape the world around it. In animation, vocal choices can suggest a whole character before the audience knows anything about their background. A lightness of touch, an ear for pace and an understanding of the relationships between characters all contribute to a convincing result. The challenge is to keep every voice individual while making the ensemble feel as if it belongs together. Humour, emotion and simple, direct storytelling remain central to that process.

Thomas & Friends
Gullane Enertainment/HiT Entertainment/Mattel Television
Sharon spent six years as Head Writer on Thomas & Friends. That experience reflects the close relationship between character, story and performance in her work. A long-running series has an established world and a set of characters that generations of viewers know, so consistency matters just as much as fresh ideas. Each new story needs its own satisfying journey while remaining true to the personalities at its heart. Writing for a family audience also means understanding how rhythm, clarity and warmth can bring a scene to life. These lessons continue to inform her creative approach across disciplines.

Milo
Fourth Wall/DeAPlaneta Entertainment
Milo is built around discovery, personality and an energetic ensemble. Clear, engaging performances help each new adventure feel playful and full of possibility. Animated series for younger viewers depend on instantly recognisable characters as well as a strong sense of curiosity. Voice performances can give a story its momentum, carry the humour and make each new situation feel welcoming. The balance between consistency and surprise matters: familiar characters should feel dependable, but they must also have room to respond naturally to new experiences. Above all, the storytelling works best when enthusiasm and character come through together.

ISADORA MOON
Kelebek Media/Sky Kids/Warner Bros. Discovery
Isadora Moon brings a distinctive mix of everyday life and fantasy to the screen. Voice performances help connect its magical setting with recognisable feelings and friendships. Stories built around an imaginative world still depend on characters an audience can understand and care about. Tone, timing and a clear sense of personality help make extraordinary situations feel believable. Each performer contributes to the relationships at the centre of the story, giving the world its warmth and character. The aim is to let the fantasy sparkle without losing the real emotions that make the characters engaging and relatable.
